Business Background:

After Dave graduated from James Madison University 1993, he began a career in the financial services industry at various Fortune 100 institutions where he gained experience in finance, operations, marketing, strategy and business development. This background has proved invaluable when it comes to running an organization effectively and efficiently.

Softball Background:

Dave played baseball in high school and college at JMU, and began coaching competitive travel baseball for teams with his step-son Cory. After having two daughters and realizing that recreation level opportunities were not advancing players development, he started the Lady Tigers Fastpitch Association in 2008, which he built into a regional power until 2016. In order to build his network with college coaches and sanction directors, he merged in the Fall of 2016 with Coach Bryan Pack, the founder of the original Carolina Elite in 2008. After Bryan had a family of his own, he has stepped away from travel ball. Effective 1/1/25, Dave will be leading the combined Carolina Elite Organizations, from both North and South Carolina, that were once separately managed as two distinct organizations historically

Dave has coached all levels of travel ball from 8u thru 18u, and currently serves as Head Coach of the Carolina Elite 2025/2026 National team, and supports all teams in a recruiting coordinator capacity.

Dave has coached both middle school and high school ball in North Carolina, regularly leading his teams into the State playoffs.

Over the past 16 years, Coach Maddaluna has placed 150+ players into college programs, and his teams have won over 60 tournaments, compiling over 1,000 wins as a head coach across all levels of play.

During his time with the Carolina Elite, Dave has fostered strong relationships with college coaches at all levels, sanction directors, and major showcase operators.

Dave lives in Mt Pleasant, NC with his wife Anita, and his two daughters Morgan and Kendall. He has two stepchildren, Cory and Lindsey, and 4 grandbabies!
